Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands Cai Weiming Publishes an Article: China's Development Injects Strong Momentum into the Development of the World

Recently, Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands H.E. Cai Weiming published an article titled “China's Development Injects Strong Momentum into the Development of the World” on Solomon Star and Island Sun newspapers. The full text is as follows:

This year marks the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Through 77 years of continuous efforts, the Communist Party of China united and led the Chinese people of all ethnic groups in achieving the great leap from standing up, to getting rich, and to becoming strong, and in creating the two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability. China has become the world's second-largest economy, largest manufacturing country, and largest goods trading nation. Especially since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, under the firm leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China has secured historic achievement and made historic reforms in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China has embarked on a new journey to build a modern socialist country in all aspects. The lives of the Chinese people have undergone profound transformation. The rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is now on an irreversible historical course.

Since the beginning of 2026, the Chinese economy has proved remarkably resilient, forging ahead against headwinds. The gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of 2026 grew by 4.7%, and the nationwide per capita disposable income of households grew by 4.2%.

New quality productive forces were fostered and strengthened, and high-quality development advanced with new and positive momentum. The high-tech manufacturing increased by 13.3%, and the value added digital product manufacturing grew by 12.3%. At the Spring Festival reception earlier this year, I pointed out that the new energy vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cells have become the "new three items" of China's foreign trade exports. In just half a year, robots, artificial intelligence, and innovative medicines, which are named the "latest new three items", have become new growth engines driving China's industrial upgrading, and have driven the transformation of export products oriented toward high-tech, high-value-added,and green low-carbon targets. China will continue to apply the new development philosophy on all fronts, move faster to foster a new development pattern, promote high-quality development, and better meet the people's growing needs for a better life.

China cannot develop on its own without the world, nor can the world advance by shutting out China. In the face of the accelerated evolution of profound changes unseen in a century, China holds high the banner of building a community with a shared future for humanity and has put forward four major global initiatives, which aim to achieve prosperity through development, ensure stability through better security, enhance mutual trust through exchanges between civilizations, and pursue justice through sound governance. They represent China's wisdom and solutions to the problems of the world and the times, and inject stability and certainty into world and the times, and inject stability and certainty into a turbulent world.

China addresses global development challenges with the Global Development Initiative (GDI). China has hosted high-level meetings on the GDI during five consecutive United Nations General Assembly sessions. The Group of Friends of the GDI has become an important contributor to global development. The philosophy of putting development first has found wide support, and the global partnership for development has gained stronger momentum. Through the China-U.N.Peace and Development fund, the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, and other investment initiatives, more than US$23 billion have been mobilized, supporting the implementation of over1,800 "small and beautiful" livelihood projects, and providing training for more than 200,000 people in different professions, bringing tangible benefits to ordinary people in more than 120 countries.

China addresses international security challenges with the Global Security Initiative (GSI). China stays committed to the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.standing firmly on the principle of non interference in other countries' internal affairs and peacefully resolving differences and disputes between countries through dialogue and consultation. China practices genuine multilateralism. China hosts the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum and other international dialogue platforms in contributing to deepening exchange and cooperation on security. China has been constructively engaged in resolving global security issues and regional hotspots such as the Middle East conflict and the Ukraine crisis, promoting peaceful solutions for countries and people plagued by conflicts, and working hand in hand with all countries to create lasting peace and universal security.

China promotes cultural exchanges and mutual learning through the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI). President Xi Jinping's footprints of promoting civilization exchanges have reached every corner of the world, and head-of-state diplomacy has greatly advanced exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. China has pushed for the United Nations General Assembly to establish the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, convened the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting, and promoted multiple international platforms such as the World Conference of Classics, forming a multi-level, multi-field global structure for dialogue and exchange among civilizations. China have carried out international cultural and people-to-people exchanges in various fields such as sports, technology and health. At the same time, we continuously facilitate the exchanges of people between China and other countries, achieving mutual advancement in both cultural exchanges and the tourism economy.

China helps improve the global governance system through the Global Governance Initiative (GGI). China stays committed to the vision of sovereign equality, international rule of law, multilateralism, the people-centered approach and real actions, upholds the global governance philosophy of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, promotes the building of a more just and equitable global governance system. The Group of Friends of Global Governance has been established in New York, Geneva and Vienna to forge broader international consensus and synergy for reforming and improving the global governance system. China proposes to establish the International Organization for Mediation, the World Data Organization and the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, building new international platforms for deepening relevant global governance.

No matter how the international landscape may evolve, China will continue to honor its responsibilities as a major country, be a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order, always working for the common good of the world and the progress of humanity.
