Tisza Leads Hungary’s Ruling Fidesz-KDNP Alliance by 13 Points
An AtlasIntel survey, cited by Europe Elects Hungary on Saturday, places Tisza at 52% against Fidesz-KDNP's 39% — representing a punishing 15-point erosion in support for the ruling coalition compared to its 2022 performance. The poll was conducted between April 5 and April 10, 2026, drawing on a sample of 1,587 respondents.
Smaller parties trail far behind. The far-right Our Homeland Movement registers at 5%, slipping one percentage point, while the Democratic Coalition stands at 2% and the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party holds just 1%.
The longer-term trend is equally striking. A separate polling average constructed using LOESS smoothing charts Tisza's dramatic ascent — from 18% in 2024 to 49% in 2026 — while Fidesz-KDNP has edged downward from 43% to 41% over the same two-year window, underscoring the sustained momentum building behind the opposition.
Sunday's election arrives as Hungary's most competitive in years, with Orban facing a consolidated and emboldened opposition that has methodically closed — and, according to the latest data, decisively overturned — what was once a commanding ruling-party advantage.
